When you start designing for Sergio Tacchini one of the most iconic brands in the world you have to dig deep into its history and garment archive. Sergio Tacchini's initial remit in 1966 was to redesign the world of tennis. the sports Kit back then was basic, plain and all white, some would say boring. Tacchini experimented with colour and fabrics to create much more advanced kit for the tennis stars of the world.


Challenge

Design on trend apparel for one of the most iconic brands in the world. Update classic styles for the current market.


Solution

Trawl google, ebay and vintage shops for all the vintage Sergio Tacchini styles to build an archive of design. Create new on trend styles from the archive retro pieces.

Mix in youth culture to create something new and awesome.


Results

Sales of heritage Sergio Tacchini in the UK jumped from around 70k to 500k with the Opening of many new accounts including Scotts Menswear, Next, Urban outfitters and Shop Direct.

I Gained my first exposure on the cover of brand directory.

Next used the images and product in all of their adverts and on the front cover of the first ever next branded catelog.
